*Premier Li Qiang of the State Council met with US Department of Commerce President Raymond Do in Beijing on August 29th, whom emphasized that China is willing to strengthen dialogue and cooperation in the economic and trade field with the US, promote the healthy development of economic and trade relations between the two countries.

*Multiple banks are about to hold the kick-off meeting for adjusting the stock interest rate of personal housing loans on August 30th, according to someone familiar with the matter.

*The fourteenth session Standing Committee of the NPC held the fifth meeting to review the report on the implementation of the budget this year, which proposed to formulate and implement a package of debt conversion plans for resolution local government bonds risks.

*The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (China) announced the establishment of a dedicated team on August 29th to promote liquidity in the stock market to comprehensively examine factors affecting the stock market liquidity and submit suggestions for improvement to the chief executive.

*SSE issued notice to optimize the issuance and trading mechanism of publicly offered infrastructure securities investment funds (REITs), which pointed out to actively promote the inclusion of infrastructure REITs and the interconnection trading targets of HKEX.

 

Industrial Economy

*The Web Space Security Summit was held in Tianjin on August 28th, which stated that China will build a national computer virus library and build a collaborative mechanism to jointly respond to network security challenges.

*MoF: The economic operation of state-owned holding enterprises across the country continued to show a recovery growth, with Jan-Jul total profits of state-owned enterprises reached cny 2733.25 bn, increased by 3.9% y/y.

* Global crude oil price closed up collectively. October NYMEX crude oil contract up 1.52% to closed at $81.32/b, November Brent contract up 1.28% to closed at $84.94/b. INE crude oil active contract up 0.41% to 640.1 yuan/b.

* Precious metals closed up collectively. COMEX gold active contract up 0.97% to closed at $1965.6/oz. SHFE gold active contract up 0.32% and closed at 460.96 yuan/gram.

* Metals closed up mostly, LME zinc up 2.69%, LME copper up 1.19%, LME lead up 1.09%, LME aluminum up 0.81%. SHFE tin up 0.98%, SHFE zinc up 0.92%, bonded copper up 0.59%. SHFE nickel down 0.36% on the contrast.

* Commodity futures closed mixed. Glass up 5.53%, methanol, rapeseed oil, TRS 20, soda ash and natural rubber up over 1%. No.2 soybeans, rapeseed meal, No.1 soybeans, sugar, soybean meal and low sulfur fuel oil down sightly.
